The education spot is always well prepared and interesting and Thursday’s presentation was no exception. Camilla Seton of Tranquility Beauty offered ideas on how to look out for possible referrals throughout our social and business life. Camilla explained that we should listen out for trigger words that crop up in conversation, take them on board and think of Chapter members who might be able to solve the problems. Camilla and Anita then gave a demonstration of the conversational topics that might lead to referrals.
At the start of the 60 second presentation, the Chapter Director,Peter Jones (PJ) reminded members to ask outright for the contact they really want. “We are not mind readers” he told us and this little truth was remembered throughout many of the presentations.
Chris Warden of Move 2 Clear took us on a fun tour of the Monopoly board to demonstrate his wide ranging clientele . However, the winner this week was Dave Martin of Multitech Security for a clear request and a concise presentation.
Steve Parkes of S&O Windows demonstrated his refurbishment skills during his ten minute presentation. Steve told us about the work he undertook and used the question and answer method to engage with his audience. Steve also set up a demo to show how a damaged unit could be repaired and in spite of a barrage of “friendly advice ” and comments, repaired the window and completed his presentation on time.
Referrals and testimonials saw 82 referrals to Chapter members and testimonials were read out for Ian Martin Insurance and Anita McAloren of Autosparx Auto Electrical.
